CSI MONTHLY MEETING
No April Meeting
We hope everyone had a very Happy
Easter
Enjoy the rest of April, and we'll
see you at the May meeting!
A Message From The President….
Greetings to all members!
Spring is here! And even though this is the “winter that wasn’t”,
I trust everyone has recharged their batteries and is ready for
a (hopefully) busy year.
So what lies ahead in the non-residential construction market this
year? Are there more plans on the architects drawing boards than
normal? Is it about the same as this time last year? From my experience
and conversations with professionals, there is a good deal of activity
and hope for a productive profitable busy season.
Hopefully there will be a strengthening of the residential construction
market across the country this year as well. While the new housing
starts have been at historic lows the last several years, interest
rates are still low if you look at it from a 20 year vantage point.
Then there are the industry trade shows and training sessions that
many of you have attended as well. Are there new things on the market
this year that merit a good hard look? Will these new things make
us more productive? Will they help us build better buildings? Will
they increase our quality of life as professionals? Will they better
society as a whole?
I suppose that time will answer all of the questions above. I am
convinced that contentment about our current situation, whatever
that is, and a positive outlook on the future will be the impetus
that will yield success and profit for the busy time ahead.
Thanks to those who attended the March meeting at NTC on Geosynthetic
& Erosion Control Products. There were some new faces there,
and that is always a positive development. We have no meeting scheduled
for April, but are planning a tour for May—I look forward
to seeing you there!
Respectfully,
Bob Kulp, President
