A Message From The President….

Greetings to all members!

It is two hours to Rose Bowl game time as I write this, so I’m going to make it short! Priorities, you know, must be kept in proper order! Go Bucky!

It is also the second day of a brand new year and I’m excited about every potential that this year holds, and also working very hard to stay warm. It’s not that it’s cold in my office, but in my head I wonder why I live in the Upper Midwest at this time of year.

Let’s talk a bit about the Upper Midwest and Wisconsin in particular. What do we have in this region that few other areas of the country enjoy? Other than the bitterly cold weather and great football teams, that is?

In the Upper Midwest, we never really ride the peaks and valleys of oscillating business cycles. As a rule, we are a model of stability to the balance of the country. Our highs in construction are never as high as the east and west coast and our lows are never as low, or so it seems. We take friendly people and efficiency for granted when we do business with others in our region and wonder if things will get done correctly or at all when working with those who live within 500 miles of one of the coasts.

“Slow and steady” and “relationships” are what are important to us. That’s where CSI membership comes in for me. Sure, the first meeting you attend may not net the $10,000,000 project that you need in order to make your year a success, but if you enjoy friendly people and building your professional career in a steady and methodical way, I commend this type of networking to you.

So if you’d like to enjoy the company of others who have the same solid work ethic as you do, join the Wausau CSI group for our After-Holiday Social on January 11, 2012 from 5:30 – 8:00PM for music, fun and fellowship. You’ll be glad you did!

And as I stated last month, if you aren’t already a member of CSI, I respectfully ask you to consider membership as a way to position yourself for success in the New Year!

Respectfully,
Bob Kulp, President
Wausau Area Chapter of CSI
